evidence-based relationship and career counseling for individuals and couples

I absolutely love what I do, and have the best clients who are motivated, aware and engaged. I specialize in the science of relationship therapy, helping Portlanders better understand, approach and enjoy relationships and their role in keeping them strong. I also work with those trying to discern whether they want to remain in relationship or not. Another passion I have is working with those unfulfilled with work and career, and looking for meaningful change. I am currently accepting new clients and offer individual, couple and premarital/pre-commitment relationship counseling services and seasonal couples workshops. Contact me if you want clarity and satisfaction again.
A marriage and family therapist and professional counselor trained in the acclaimed Gottman Method, I help clients figure out what feels wrong in their relationship, how to communicate these valid needs and emotions, manage conflict, accept influence and repair wounds to help them to get back on track. Using leading methods based on decades of research, I teach clients predictors of breakup and how to avoid them, and how to adopt the behaviors that instead lead to highly satisfying, connected relationships to help guide partners to build trust and commitment again. Even if your relationship has taken a sharp turn for the worst, this experience can provide valuable information and often leads to even deeper connection and shared meaning. Sound like a lot to ask? You and your partner deserve it.
I also incorporate discussions of social status, power and privilege when I identify disparities in these as influencing the relationship. My therapy is secular and non-religious unless otherwise requested. I am LGBTQIA-affirming.
